What you'll need to join

  • Current WA Driving Instructor (DI) Licence issued by the Department of Transport
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) — required under WA law
  • Approved dual-control vehicle with instructor brake
  • Current Police Clearance (within 3 years)
  • Commercial driving-school insurance
  • Australian bank account for Stripe payouts

Earning potential

Most full-time instructors on Happy2Drive see 25–35 lessons per week within 90 days of approval. You set your own rate — Perth instructors typically charge $75–$110/hr, working out to around $1,900–$3,700 per week. WA learners must complete 50 hours before their PDA — that's consistent, ongoing demand for good instructors.

Platform fee is just 5% per booking — no subscription, no setup cost.
